Overview

The UIT University (UITU) invites applications for the position of Assistant Librarian. The incumbent shall have following qualification and experience:

Specific Skills

• Able to work on MS Office including MS Excel;
• Must have knowledge of book shelving and other related tasks of the department;
• Must be proficient in KOHA-ILS D-Space and Caliber.

Responsible For

• To look after the Library operations;
• To manage MARC based integrated library system;
• To assume full responsibility of the Library Circulation Counter, Manual and Computerized both issuing, receiving, renewing and reserving library material;
• To ensure maintenance of Library Management System including updating maintaining backup of library data;
• To process new materials including books, audio-visual materials, and data entry on computer software;
• To ensure that the students adhere to library discipline when using it to maintain the library enjoyment by controlling and restricting readers and users;
• To locate library materials for patrons, including books, periodicals, tape cassettes.

Qualification & Experience Requirements

Master’s Degree in Library & Information Science (MLIS)
